“It takes a village…”

“It takes a village..”

I’ve always disliked that phrase.
It’s just annoying.

Every time I hear someone say it, I cringe a little.
I don’t know why.

BUT… turns out they are all right.

My irritation was misplaced.
When I should have been curious about what they meant, I dismissed them.

It does take a village… in all aspects of life – Mind, Body, Business, Relationships.

I’m seeing this every day as I sit home with baby Kaden.

I’ve never before so appreciated the parenting experiences of all my friends and the new people I’m meeting through PEPS, lactation support group, and more.

😫Torn up nipples – no problem!

There’s a natural ointment and a steroid prescription for that.
Cranial-Sacral therapy will help with his tight jaw and tongue.
And sitting around and nursing with other moms feeds my soul and need for conversation and connection!

😥Fussy baby that won’t sleep – also not a problem!

TakingCaraBabies has a class for that and an awesome Instagram.
The Wonder Weeks book and app explains the mental leaps he’s going through and associated physical changes.
Scrolling my friends’ posts entertains me while I rock a sleeping baby.
My friends reassure me that I’m not alone.

🤸‍♀️Anxious to start working out again – yep, they have solutions for that too!

Being inspired by my friends who are completing the GRIT challenge.
Looking forward to joining GRIT in January!
Limber Babies yoga class that Kaden and I can do together.
Breanna Battles’ 8-week postpartum training program to help with healing diastasis recti.
Family First Chiropractic to help my body stay aligned and healthy.

All of these resources were referred to me through my community… through my village!

I never would have known to search all of this out, had my friends and acquaintances not pointed me in the right direction.

Every time I learn something new, I’m also exposed to other new ideas.

The knowledge, understanding, and community just continues to grow!

And I hope to be able to continue learning and sharing with others.

After all, life is about relationships.

It’s about coming together, experiencing together, and growing together.

So, apologies to everyone I secretly cringed towards when you spoke that truth!

You are right!
It does take a village!

It takes a village to raise a child, to build a business, to create a community, to live a healthy and active life.

It takes a village to live a great life!
