“Time Speeds Up…”
“It’s already 7am! How is that possible?! Ugg. I’m going to be late.”
I say, just about every other morning.
Sennad looks at me and rolls his eyes.
Of course, it’s already 7am; I’ve been up for more than a couple hours now.
I don’t know how it happens, but time always speeds up in the morning.
I made a simple morning routine that has enough time for everything I want to do.
Not excessive amounts of time, but enough time.
Make a coffee.
Read for 20mins.
Meditate.
Write my daily story.
Then get ready for work.
Be out the door by 7:15.
It feels like I just barely got up. So, how is it 7am and I still have wet hair in a bathrobe!
Then the rush really sets in.
Speed blow dry my hair, just enough to put into a presentable ponytail.
Skip the eyeliner, just throw on some mascara.
Look in my closet, realize there isn’t a single thing I want to wear, so just put on one of the standard outfits that I wear all the time.
“Did I already wear this this week??”
Maybe. Who cares. No one is going to remember.
It’s mornings like this that I wish I had a uniform that includes a hat.
No thinking, no planning, no spending time getting ready.
Just put on the simple pair of pants. The matching shirt. Or, maybe a one-piece pants-shirt combo that zips up the front. Throw on the hat. And done. A nice Boeing office worker uniform.
I don’t know how it’s possible, but somehow the hours before 7:15am just seem to fly by a little faster than all the other hours of the day. And it surprises me just about every morning.
When I figure out how to get these hours to slow down and work better with my plan – I’ll let you know!
