“My eyes were bigger than my muscles…”

And now my biceps HURT!
Yes, hurt. And yes, plural.
I look like a t-rex, walking around with contracted arms that won’t straighten all the way.
This is a major problem.
T-rex really isn’t working for me.
I reach out to pet Lexi. Ooowww!
Try to grab a coffee mug. Nope, gotta start with the step stool.
Put my hair in a ponytail. Ugh.
The worst part? These t-rex arms started on New Year's Eve.
That was five days ago. Five days!
So, here’s what happened.
One of our best friends, Stephanie Myers, was in town for the holidays.
For some pre-NYE festivities, we decided to all get together for an Orange Theory workout.
Now, as you know, I’ve been doing Peloton workouts at home.
You haven’t heard a single thing about me lifting weights these days.
But have no fear, I figured I should go all out at Orange Theory… with the bicep curls!
Nothing else.
I ran at a moderate pace, I rowed a comfortable row.
But when it came to bicep curls… well, I was going for it (for some reason).
15lbs.
The perfect weight for someone who hasn’t done a curl in months. No.
45 bicep curls later and the rest is history; I’m sitting here now with t-rex arms.
I could be frustrated by my overall poor performance in the class or mad about these never-ending sore muscles.
But the funny thing is, I sorta miss doing bicep curls.
And even miss running (well, jogging) a little.
It was fun to do an Orange Theory workout with friends.
I enjoy the social time doing something healthy together.
Now when I stretch out my arms and find a little tinge of soreness, I get a happy memory of hanging out with Steph, Lana, Jenn, and Sennad for a morning.
And biceps, as soon as you’re feeling better, we’ll be back at the curls.
