“Am I an Imposter…”
Shared by Kristina
Well… I’m pretty sure I’m not an imposter at Boeing. I’ve worked here for 13 years, know our culture, have a large network of colleagues and friends, and know my job and what’s expected of my team and me. And I’m proud of what we are able to accomplish together!
Not being an imposter feels good… maybe even great!
But what is my purpose in life? What would I really love to spend my time on? What are my passions? Here’s where the “imposter me” starts stepping in.
Owning a business
Leadership coaching
Inspiring others
Building community
Positively impacting the community I live in
Practicing and teaching mindfulness
Empowering others, and therefore myself
Unlocking potential
Enabling our schools, businesses, and communities to thrive
The imposter me has a racing heart (and sweaty palms) just writing this down, knowing that I might actually share this with others!
Are these lofty, crazy ideas? Do I really have any right to think I can do this? Will others think I’m an imposter or a fraud?
Lofty – yes. Crazy – maybe, or maybe just awesome! But, you know what eases the nerves, anxiety, fear of vulnerability, and apprehension of being an imposter or a fraud? A few things…
- Having a like-minded and amazing friend/sister-in-law/partner, Breanne Smedley, an awesome husband, Sennad Fallak, and supportive friends and family!
- The opportunity to continue learning at Gonzaga and various other avenues/people.
- Knowing this is my passion, my purpose, and how I will make an impact in this remarkable life!
I’m reflecting on how much I appreciate the security, confidence, structure, and “knowns” at Boeing and am thankful to work here.
At the same time, I have so much energy and passion towards building something new! Now, to just keep the “imposter me” under wraps.
I’m excited to share that Breanne Smedley and I are starting a new journey together… a Mindfluent™ Leadership journey… we are committed to sharing our journey publicly, to engage with you all, and bring others along with us.
Together we can create a movement.
Together we can create positive and impactful progress.
We’re also committed to learning and practicing the art of storytelling with Ryan Fletcher and ImpactClub.
And we have so many more ideas… that keep our brains spinning at all hours of the day and night. So… more to come.
I encourage you to consider your passions and your purpose, shut out the nervous “imposter you” and go for it! We’ll certainly be there to support you and would love to hear your ideas!
